A Showcase of local music

Calling all local bands, it's time to pick up your guitars and turn up your amps with the launch of 'Carling Supports' to coincide with the opening of Carling Academy Sheffield. Carling Supports offers local bands the chance to showcase their music and be amongst the first bands on the bill at Carling Academy 2.

Aspiring bands can enter via www.carling.com by uploading two of their best tracks along with a biography and picture. (The closing date to enter is 24th March 2008). The best bands will be invited to play in front of an independent panel of judges at Carling Supports nights across Sheffield.

Showcase to take place:
Harley - Monday 31st March
Casbah - Tuesday 1st April
Ruskins - Wednesday 2nd April
Venue TBC - Thursday 3rd April

Four outstanding acts will then get the amazing opportunity to perform live on stage at the first show on at Carling Academy 2 Sheffield on 17th April.

The line-up for the heat on Wednesday 2nd April has now been confirmed.

The first act will be on at 7:30pm, so come along to see these great up and coming bands and help launch them on the path to stardom!
